Joint Local Plan 2045 (JLP2)
We have started to prepare a new Joint Local Plan for South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse. This will be our second joint local plan, it will cover the period up to 2045 and we will refer to it as JLP2.
On 19 June 2026 we published our notice of intention to commence Joint Local Plan 2045 preparation and our timetable which sets out the plan-making milestones.
Key dates in the preparation of the Joint Local Plan 2045:
June 2026: Publication of the Local Plan Timetable and Notice of intention to commence local plan preparation.
September 2026: Scoping Consultation
June to July 2027: Consultation on proposed plan content and evidence
March to April 2028: Consultation on the proposed plan
Examination: November 2028 to March 2029
Adoption: April 2029

We will prepare JLP2 in line with the 2026 regulations published by Government in March 2026 and will follow a 30-month local plan preparation and examination timeline.
