South and Vale Holiday Activities
During most school holidays, our Active Communities team offer a range of free and low-cost activities, for young children, teenagers and families to enjoy at locations across South Oxfordshire and the Vale of White Horse.
Bookings open around a month before each holiday period – follow our new Active Communities Facebook page, you can join our mailing list to receive regular email updates, or if you have any questions; please email active.communities@southandvale.gov.uk
The activities are usually very popular, we encourage you to book early to avoid disappointment. See below for details of our next programme of holiday activities and how to book. Booking is required to be able to attend our activities.

Easter holidays

The Active Communities team are offering a range of activities for you and your family to be active during Easter half term. Activities are low-cost or free, please see each activity for pricing.
Bookings must be made in advance and tickets can be purchased online on the day if there is still space available.
Week 1
Monday 30 March
- Cholsey activity morning – 10-11.30am, Cholsey Pavilion, Station Road, Cholsey, OX10 9PT.
- Join our Easter themed Xplorer outside and inside enjoy crafts, music and fun!
- All adults and children attending need a ticket.
- £2 per person, £1 with YouMove card discounted tickets for groups of 4+.
- Book your space for Cholsey activity morning.
- Abingdon activity afternoon – 1.30-3.30pm, The Junction, Broad St, Abingdon OX14 3JU.
- Come and have some fun at The Junction and try New Age Kurling and join our Dance party!
- Two 1 hour sessions of fun

Tuesday 31 March
- Born to Move – 9.30-11.30am, Wigod Way Family Centre, Wallingford, OX10 8AJ
- 9.30-10am – Born to Move Early Years (Age 2-5)
- 10.15-10.45am – Born to Move age 5-8
- 11-11.30am – Born to Move age 9-11
- 11.45am-12.15pm – Born to Move family
- Free sessions bookable via the family centre website.
- Football – 10am-2pm, Faringdon Leisure Centre, Fernham Road, Faringdon, SN7 7LB.
- Fun beginner friendly sessions
- 10-10.55am Age 3-5
- 11-11.55am Age 6-8
- Midday-12.55pm Age 9-11
- 1-2pm Girls only age 6-10
- £3 per child or £1 with YouMove card

Wednesday 1 April

- Take part in our Easter themed free family Xplorer event in Botley. This is aimed at pre-school and primary aged children to do with an adult. Explore the park, find the markers, complete the challenge and have fun together!

- Pickleball, £5 per Pickleball court
- Fun netball age 7-11, beginner fun football age 7-11- £3 per child or £1 with YouMove card
- 9-9.55am Pickleball
- 10-10.55am Netball Age 7-11
- 11-11.55am Football Age 7-11
- Midday-1pm Pickleball

- Thame Fun Day 10am-3pm, Thame Leisure Centre, Oxford Rd, Thame OX9 2BB.
- This is a free event. There is no cost for the following activities:

- 10.45-11.15am New Age Kurling
- 11.30-midday Boccia
- 12.30-3pm 30 minute slots Pickleball
- 1.30-2.30pm Family Dance Party

Saturday 11 April
- Open Day at The Junction 10am -2pm, The Junction, Abingdon
- Come along and try some activities like New Age Kurling, get creative with craft and enjoy some softplay.
- No need to book just turn up on the day and join in the fun. We may have to limit numbers on the day depending on popularity.
