
South and Vale Holiday Activities
During most school holidays, our Active Communities team offer a range of free and low-cost activities, for young children, teenagers and families to enjoy at locations across South Oxfordshire and the Vale of White Horse.
Bookings open around a month before each holiday period – follow our new Active Communities Facebook page, you can join our mailing list to receive regular email updates, or if you have any questions; please email active.communities@southandvale.gov.uk
The activities are usually very popular so, where required, we would encourage you to book early to avoid disappointment. See below for details of our next programme of holiday activities and how to book.
What’s on, where and when:
The Active Communities team have lots of free activities running and are attending some events over the summer holidays. More information and booking can be found on the individual activities booking pages.
Outdoor events may be subject to change or cancellation due to unfavorable weather.
Please note bookings will close when spaces are filled or at 11.45pm the night before the event. There may be some spaces available on the day, but this is not guaranteed.

All sessions are FREE! Please see below for a full list on what’s on and the links to the booking forms, where required. You are welcome to turn up to an activity on the day and we will always try to accommodate families.
Most events are provided by the South and Vale Active Communities team, Better Leisure and/or Oxfordshire Play Association (OPA).
- Support for Didcot Youth Festival also comes from Soha, Didcot Community Partnership, SOFEA, Sovereign Network Group (SNG), TRAIN
- Summer of Skate events are provided by South and Vale Community Safety Partnership and ATB Shop, with support from Soha Community Fund, SNG, BLUNT. Scooters, Enuff Skateboards, SLAMM SCOOTERS, and INDEPENDENT. You can find out more about Summer of Skate on this poster.

School summer holidays – week 4
Monday 18 August
- Henley Mini Family Fun Day – 10am to midday – Henley YMCA, 2 Lawson Rd, Henley, RG9 1NZ . Find out more and book your space here
- Summer of Skate, Cholsey (ages 5-16) – 10am to 1pm, Cholsey Recreation Ground, Station Road, Cholsey, Wallingford, OX10 9PT. No booking, just turn up!
- Monday Funday @ The Junction – 1.30pm to 3pm – Opposite Library, Broad Street, Abingdon, OX14 3LZ. This is an Early Years session with older siblings welcomed to join. Find out more and book your space here.
- Summer of Skate, Didcot (ages 5-16) – 2pm to 5pm, Ladygrove Skatepark, Cow lane, Didcot, OX11 7GE. No booking, just turn up!
Wednesday 20 August

- Summer of Skate, Sutton Berinsfield (ages 5-16) – 2pm to 5pm, Berinsfield Recreation Ground, Lay Avenue, OX10 7NF. No booking, just turn up!
Tuesday 26 August
- Wheatley Fun Day – 10am to 3pm – Park Sports Centre, Holton, OX33 1QZ. Find out more and book your space here. This is a joint event with GLL. Leisure Centre activities also available. Bookings for Family Pickleball and Badminton.

- Bouncy Castle will be available 1-3pm on the day. No need to book just turn up for the session.
